Deposit in the Valjevo District

sodium borates / deposit in the valjevo district

Sodium borates, such as those discovered in the Valjevo district, are globally unique and rare. This deposit is not only the sole deposit of sodium borates known in Europe, but also only one of the few significant discoveries of this mineral known in history, which makes it relevant for the strategic and economic development of Serbia.

The planned activities of the company, after the realization of further necessary research and analysis and obtaining the necessary permits, will be focused on the careful planning of the underground sodium borate mineral extraction project, while respecting the high standards of environmental protection and community welfare. The project envisions the use of an underground tunnel to access the deposit at a depth of approximately 275 meters below the surface. The minerals could then be brought to the surface by conveyor and safely transported to an ecologically damaged area nearby, where the sodium borate minerals would be safely processed.

The technological process of extracting sodium borate in a closed facility would be based on the use of only hot water and sodium carbonate, while the environmental sustainability of this project could also be strengthened by the potential for rehabilitation of ecologically damaged areas in the surrounding region.
